About Me

About Me

Technologist, speaker, coach, and sometimes music producer

Hi, I’m Kwame! I’ve been part of every kind of team you can imagine from tiny startups where you build your own desk to huge companies where you don’t even do your own laundry. These days I’m focused on coaching product development teams and individuals through speaking, writing, and training.

My Career

I’ve worked at a range of different companies from tiny startups where you build your own desk to huge companies where you don’t even do your own laundry. In that time, I’ve learned a ton about what it takes to be a successful software engineer and leader.

I founded Magnetic to help companies fill their most persistent organizational gaps. My services include 1:1 coaching, group trainings, recruiting strategy, org policy design, and more.

At Facebook I worked on infrastructure and products leading efforts across photos, sharing, and application performance. You literally can’t use FB without executing code I wrote or products I helped design.

At Asana I led the new cross-functional New York office, managed product development efforts, and helped refine technical strategy for the company’s new web framework that vastly improved user experience.

At Meebo (acquired by Google in 2012), I helped grow revenue ~10x as part of the ads team, led development of a social network, and worked on one of the most complex web app’s in the industry at the time as part of a team that literally redefined what’s possible in the web browser (Meebo built a web-based instant messaging client before Crockford’s classic Javascript the Good Parts was published!)
